I was born and raised in Mexico, but I currently live in the United States. I have a degree in Agronomy and another one in Linguistics. These sets of skills combined allowed me to work as a writer for an educational program sponsored by the Mexican government for people living in rural areas at the beginning of my professional life.
I've been working as a translator, editor and proofreader since 1992, when I moved to the United States. I've enjoyed working in publishing, on materials ranging from bilingual textbooks to Spanish-language versions of U.S. magazines. I am fascinated by the multiple ways and registers in which an idea can be expressed, and by the creativity of language. I guess that's what I like about working in publishing.
I also translate, edit and proofread health-related materials ranging from post op instructions to patients to abstracts of current research studies intended for the general public.
When you hire me, you get someone who is genuinely interested in getting your message across.
