Source text - English I behold a wonderful secret. I see the Sun of Righteousness instead of the concrete Sun. I behold Him dwelling in the Virgin, in a way unspeakable.
Do not ask me, “How?”
For when God wills, the system of the universe is subdued.
As He wanted to be incarnate, He could do so; He descended from the highest and saved us.
Hasten you all and behold!
He who is, the Eternal God has become today what He has not been before:
He who is God has become Man while He is still God;
The Eternal, the Begotten from the Father according to nature, I behold today born from the Virgin, in a supernatural way, by the grace of the Holy Spirit.
The Ancient of days has become an infant;
The One who sits on the throne of the highest had been received in a manger;
The One,to whom no one can draw near, and the Incorporeal,
Was wrapped by human hands.
The One who releases from the bonds of sin
Had been wrapped in cloth, for so it was His will.
Translation - Arabic إني أرى سرًا عجيبًا، أنظرُ شمسَ البرِ عوضًا عن الشمس المادية، أراه في أحشاء البتول، فيا له من أمرٍ لا يُنْطَقُ به.
لا تسألني: "كيف كان ذلك؟"
فمتى يشاء الله يُخْضَعُ نظامُ الكون بأسره
إذ أراد أن يتجسدَ، استطاع أن يفعلَ هكذا، فقد نزل من العلا وخلصنا.
هيا جميعًا مسرعين وانظروا
ذاك الذي هو الله الأزلي قد صار اليومَ ما لم يكنه من قبل
ذاك الذي هو الله قد صار إنسانًا وهو لم يزل الإله
ألأزلي والمولود من الآب بحسب الطبيعة أراه اليومَ مولودًا من العذراء -بما يفوق الطبيعة- بنعمة الروح القدس
قديم الأيام قد صار طفلاً
الجالس على عرشه في الأعالي استقبلوه في مذود
مَن لا يستطيع أحد أن يدنوَ منه وغير المتجسد قمطته أيدٍ بشرية
ذاك الذي يحل من قيود الخطية
لفوه في ثوبٍ، فتلك كانت إرادته

سرحت في لحظة انسجام نادرة أردد قول الشاعر:
منى إن تكن حقا تكن أعزب المنى
وإلا فقد عشنا بها زمنا رغدا.
دقت زوجتي صدرها بكفها قائلة: يا لهوي! .. يعني مش كفاية منى! لا .. ورغدة كمان!! قل لي بسرعة عرفتهم فين دول؟ انطق!
Translation - English Jolly And Mary
I was called in a rare moment of exaltation, repeating these lines of verse,
If these hopes were true,
They would be jolly.
And even if not, they led us,
To days very merry.
"Oh! Not only Jolly but Mary also!" my wife grew stunned, even appalled, and said, "Tell me at once when did you know them? Hurry up!"
