English to Polish: Meditation on the Nature of Mind General field: Other Detailed field: Religion
Source text - English (c) Eliminating doubts concerning the differences between
three [states of mind]: resting/stillness (né),
mental fluctuations (gyu), and awareness (rig)
Former masters have said that at the time of these experiences, one can distinguish between three degrees of mental fluctuations: subtle, somewhat gross, and very coarse. For example, among the various states of mind that engage in virtuous practices, the thought to quench one’s thirst [while continuing to practice virtue] is a subtle
fluctuation. The thought that forgets about the practice of virtue and thinks only to quench one’s thirst is somewhat rough. And actually engaging in the action of quenching one’s thirst through an act of body and speech is a very coarse fluctuation. If [what these former masters have said] is so, then all three types of fluctuations must be fluctuations that occur only in the context of a beginner’s
practice of stabilizing meditation.
Translation - Polish (c) Rozproszenie wątpliwości dotyczących różnic pomiędzy trzema [stanami umysłu]: spoczywaniem/nieruchomością (ne), poruszeniami umysłu (gju) i czystą świadomością (rig)
Dawni mistrzowie mawiali, że w trakcie tych doświadczeń można rozróżnić trzy rodzaje mentalnych poruszeń: subtelne, mniej subtelne i zupełnie niesubtelne („grube”). A faktyczne zaangażowanie w proces gaszenia pragnienia, działanie z poziomu ciała i mowy, będzie zdecydowanie niesubtelnym poruszeniem.
