Translation - English This is the announcement by the "westArt"-initiative for a collection of bad art. On July 1, the "westArt"-mobile, also called the "Bad Art"-mobile, began its tour across Germany to collect unusual, incomplete or unwanted art. Everyone, who has produced, bought or received bad art, is encouraged to bring his or her ugly works to "westArt" for the art collection. Until the end of July covering ten cities, the bus will collect everything that is kitsch, junk or trash but still can be considered as art. Over 500 works of art have already been collected by the organizers, which include pieces from well-known artists such as Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The bus collected 160 masterpieces of inelegance at the first three collection locations alone, Hamburg, Cologne and Dortmund. Hamburg came out as the undoubted capital of bad art, where the majority of these art works was donated. The "Bad Art"-mobile will also stir up the art scenes in Essen, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Dresden, Berlin and Rostock, before returning to Hamburg where Germany's most disgusting art may be seen in an exhibition in October. For the very first time many of the collected works in the "westArt"-collection will be presented to the public and the audience will be asked to participate in the selection of the trashiest, ugly, and unbearable artwork, which will be awarded with 10,000 marks.
