Spanish to English: About Barbara Noculak General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Translation - English Throughout her artistic career, Noculak has questioned the influence of past over present, how the simplest and most innocent thing contains history, a substrate that remains and somehow reappears. There are many references to former meanings that nourish almost unconsciously objects and daily routine. She writes in one of her poems: “And in the heads/ the spirit of the ancestors remains/ for generations it appears/ always the same scabs/ as a ghost/ How can I free myself?”

Translation - English JFC: Indeed. I paint my ex's when I'm not longer with them in an act that provides special content to the work. In New York's exhibition, there is a series of works that transcends image realism, they discompose as memories themselves, despite being mimetic drawings of true glitches specifically made from photographs. In reality, «(HE)ARTBROKEN» is a kind of hedonist culmination of the terribilità of a life journey that in fact we all make through our lives and lovers, pain and breaks, and the beauty of those moments, all of that told by the women that shared my life and those feelings; an almost proustish tour through a sentimental past where I mix recent and old images, sometimes vivid and other times diffuse, same as when we recall them.

Translation - English The Jury members value the concept of a modular proposal where all units are built as real habitable rocks disseminated all over the place as if they were tectonic tents. Their own morphology and nature make them only placeable on flat ground, the space is just a well or cave not committed to the landscape and its experience.
This formal interest accommodation proposal is reminiscent of Verner Panton’s subject-object interaction.
To inhabit the stone. To inhabit the crack. To inhabit the wall. The reflection on the exploration of ways to inhabit a natural space in comparison with the scale of the place results in a weathered intervention which reminds one of ancient caverns.

My first approach to translation was during high school, we used to translate from Latin and ancient Greek all those texts that talked about Julius Caesar's wars or some ancient greek hero's adventures. I have always had a passion for reading and writing so the next step was clear.
I'm a professional translator that works in the combination English and French to Spanish. I have a degree on translation and interpreting and I'm a native Spanish speaker. I do general translation but mostly Humanities / Art and Architecture translations.
