Nachdem WEX Cameras erst in Dezember 2008 mit großem Tamtam den deutschen Markt erschlossen hat und so auch einen entsprechenden Werbeaufwand betrieben hat, wollte ich diesem neuen Online Shop eine Chance geben und habe dort eine hochwertige Digitalkamera bestellt.
Der Bestellprozess war einfach und Lieferung erfolgte wie angegeben pünktlich nach zwei Werktagen. Ich war jedoch etwas sehr verwundert als der Paketdienst vor meiner Tür einen "Haufen aus Plastikfolie und Klebeband" abgab (kein Witz!). Man glaubt es nicht, aber in diesem Folienknäuel befand sich tatsächlich meine bestellte Kamera in beschädigter Verpackung sowie ein komplett zerknitterter Kaufbeleg. Für einen normalen Pappkarton hat man bei WEX Cameras offenbar kein Geld übrig.
Die zweite Verwunderung trat auf, als ich feststellte, dass die in der Folienknolle enthaltene Kamera zwar das bestellte Modell war, es sich jedoch klar ersichtlich um eine Re-Import oder Graumarktware aus Grossbritannien handelte. Das Ladekabel hatte einen englischen Netzstecker und englische Bedienungsanleitung. WEX Cameras hatte deshalb ein Kabel mit EU-Stecker beigelegt.
Es war im Shop von WEX Cameras nicht ersichtlich, dass es sich um Graumarktware aus UK handelt! Hätte ich Ware aus Grossbritannien gewollt, hätte ich dort direkt bestellt und verglichen mit WEX Cameras zusätzlich Geld gespart.
Ich entschloss mich deshalb die Kamera zurückzuschicken und versuchte dies über die Hotline zu veranlassen. Dort kann es jedoch leicht passieren, dass man nach 20 Minuten Wartezeit keinen Menschen an den Hörer kriegt.
Letztlich habe ich die Rücksendung selbst veranlasst und hoffe nun mein Geld wieder zu bekommen.
Somit gilt - VORSICHT bei Bestellungen bei www.wexcameras,de.
Fazit: So wird WEX Cameras auf den deutschen Markt nicht erfolgreich sein!

In December 2008, after WEX resolved to first enter the German market with a big hoopla and then proceeded with a correspondingly elaborate ad campaign, I wanted to give this new online shop a chance, so I ordered a high-value digital camera.
The ordering process was simple and, as stated, delivery followed promptly after two workdays. However, I was astonished when the parcel service showed up at my door and dropped off "a heap of plastic wrap and tape" (no joke!). It's hard to believe, but among this plastic-tangle was actually the camera I had ordered, in damaged packaging with a fully crumpled receipt of purchase. There was obviously no extra money at WEX for a normal cardboard box.
The second surprise came about when I realized that this camera wrapped in plastic, admittedly being the model I had ordered, was clearly a re-import or gray-market product from Great Britain. The charging cable had an English power plug and an English instruction manual. WEX cameras, for this reason, had enclosed an EU-plug.
It wasn't apparent to the WEX shop that they were dealing with gray-market goods from the UK! If I had wanted goods from Great Britain, then I would've ordered from there directly, and like WEX cameras I would've saved additional money.
Therefore I decided to send the camera back. I tried to take care of this online. However, it can easily be the case here, that after 20 minutes on hold you won't get a live person on the other end of the line.
In the end, I took care of the return shipment myself and I am now hoping to get my money back.
Thus CAUTION is essential when ordering at www.wexcameras,de.
Summary: Such practices will not make WEX cameras successful in the German Market!
