Według wyników randomizowanego badania klinicznego Multicentrum InSync opublikowanych przez JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Association, Czasopismo Amerykańskiego Towarzystwa Medycznego) terapia resynchronizujaca serca (CRT) w połączeniu ze wszczepialnym kardiowerterem-defibrylatorem (ICD, ang. Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) poprawia jakość życia, klasę czynnościową wg NYHA (New York Heart Association – Nowojorskie Towarzystwo Kardiologiczne), oraz czas trwania wysiłku fizycznego u pacjentów z umiarkowaną/ zaawansowaną niewydolnością serca, dyssynchronią skurczu, oraz ze wskazaniami do ICD, bez zakłócania funkcji ICD.

Source text - English This research study is for patients with ovarian cancer who received previous chemotherapy treatments for which the cancer tumours continued to grow and/or spread, or for which new tumours were found (called “progression”). Because you have ovarian cancer that continued to progress after you received previous chemotherapy treatments, you are being offered an opportunity to participate in this experimental research study.
The treatment of ovarian cancer requires the use of powerful drugs that have side effects, some potentially very serious, and possibly fatal. It may become necessary for you to be admitted to the hospital during your treatment. Topotecan interferes with the growth of cancer cells but the growth of normal cells may also be affected. Do not have any immunisations (vaccinations) without your doctor’s approval. Because topotecan may lower your body’s resistance, there is a chance that you might get the infection that the immunisation is meant to prevent. In addition, other persons living in your household should not take oral polio vaccine, as there is a chance that they could pass the polio virus on to you. Also, avoid persons who have received the polio vaccine within the past several months.
It is possible that topotecan may cause unknown side effects on unborn children now or in the future due to exposure in the womb or there may be a risk to your child if you are breast-feeding. Studies in rats and rabbits have shown that topotecan causes birth defects and deaths of the foetus, as well as problems in the mother. If you are able to become pregnant, you will be required to practice an effective method of birth control while you are participating in this study. Talk to your doctor about acceptable methods of birth control. If you should become pregnant while you are participating in this study, notify your study doctor immediately. Pregnant women and nursing mothers cannot participate in this study.
Translation - Polish Badanie przeznaczone jest dla pacjentek cierpiących na raka jajników, u których istniejące zmiany rakowe rozwijały się po zastosowaniu chemioterapii, i/lub u których zanotowane zostały nowe zmiany nowotworowe (progresja). Zapraszamy Panią do udziału w eksperymentalnym badaniu klinicznym, ponieważ cierpi Pani na raka jajników, który rozwijał się po zastosowaniu chemioterapii.
Leczenie raka jajników wymaga podania silnych leków, których efekty uboczne mogą być bardzo poważne lub nawet śmiertelne. Może się zdarzyć, że podczas badania będzie Pani hospitalizowana. Topotekan (nazwa handlowa leku: Hycamtin®) ingeruje w rozwój komórek rakowych, ale może on również zaburzyć rozwój zdrowych komórek. Podczas trwania badania nie może Pani przyjmować żadnych szczepionek bez konsultacji z lekarzem. Topotekan może obniżyć odporność organizmu, dlatego też może się Pani zarazić chorobą, której szczepienie miałoby zapobiec. Poza tym, osoby mieszkające z Panią nie powinny przyjmować doustnej szczepionki przeciwko chorobie Heinego-Medina, gdyż może się Pani zarazić wirusem tej choroby. Powinna też Pani unikać kontaktu z osobami, które otrzymały tę szczepionkę w ciągu ostatnich kilku miesięcy.
Topotekan może spowodować nieznane skutki uboczne u płodu lub później u dziecka, spowodowane wystawieniem płodu na działanie leku w macicy. Ryzyko to dotyczy również matek karmiących piersią. Badania prowadzone na zwierzętach laboratoryjnych wykazały, że topotekan powoduje wady wrodzone u młodych, śmierć płodu, a także komplikacje u matki. Jeśli jest Pani w wieku rozrodczym, będzie Pani musiała stosować skuteczną metodę antykoncepcji; lekarz rodzinny pomoże Pani w jej wyborze. Jeśli zdarzy się, że zajdzie Pani w ciążę w czasie trwania badania, musi Pani natychmiast poinformować o tym lekarza prowadzącego badanie. W badaniu nie mogą też uczestniczyć kobiety karmiące piersią.

4.1. Wyzwania wynikające z konieczności spełnienia kryteriów konwergencji
Powyższe rozważania prowadzą do następujących wniosków.
Po pierwsze, w okresie poprzedzającym przystąpienie Polski do strefy euro niezbędne jest znaczne i trwałe zacieśnienie polityki fiskalnej. Nieznaczny wzrost restrykcyjności tej polityki, mający na celu spełnienie kryterium z niewielkim tylko zapasem, przy jednoczesnym zacieśnieniu polityki pieniężnej i wynikającym stąd spowolnieniu gospodarczym, może doprowadzić do przekroczenia referencyjnej wartości deficytu finansów publicznych 3% PKB. Kombinacja luźnej polityki fiskalnej i restrykcyjnej polityki monetarnej jest też niekorzystna z punktu widzenia długookresowego wzrostu gospodarczego. Co więcej. niedostateczne zacieśnienie fiskalne mogłoby doprowadzić do znacznych napięć na rynku walutowym, uniemożliwiając spełnienie kryterium kursowego. Tymczasem układ polityki makroekonomicznej w okresie uczestnictwa w systemie ERM II powinien sprzyjać stabilizacji kursu walutowego. Nie ulega wątpliwości, że połączenie restrykcyjnej polityki fiskalnej z umiarkowanie restrykcyjną polityką pieniężną tworzy optymalną politykę makroekonomiczną na drodze do członkostwa Polski w unii monetarnej.
Po drugie, prawdopodobieństwo bezpiecznego pobytu w systemie ERM II zwiększy się, jeśli zostaną wynegocjowane odpowiednie warunki uczestnictwa w tym mechanizmie. Ustalenia te dotyczą zarówno wyboru parytetu centralnego zbliżonego do długookresowego kursu równowagi, jak i szerokiego pasma dopuszczalnych wahań.
Po trzecie, zważywszy na tradycyjnie występujące zagrożenia związane z realizacją polityki kursowej w warunkach systemu quasi-sztywnego kursu walutowego, okres uczestnictwa złotego w systemie ERM II powinien być możliwie krótki. Do tego wniosku prowadzi również dotychczasowa interpretacja kryterium kursowego, akcentująca większą tolerancję dla aprecjacji kursu w stosunku do centralnego parytetu. Oznacza to, że w przypadku opóźniania wejścia do strefy euro polityka pieniężna powinna być, tak jak dotychczas, prowadzona w warunkach reżimu płynnego kursu walutowego.
Translation - Polish Effective macroeconomical policy in respect to the membership in the eurozone
4.1. Challenges resulting from the necessity of meeting the convergence criteria
The above deliberations lead to the following conclusions:
Firstly, a significant and stable tightening of the fiscal policy is essential in the period that precedes Poland’s entering the eurozone. A small increase in the policy’s restrictiveness, the aim of which is to meet the criterion with only a small reserve, (provided it is combined with a simultaneous tightening of the monetary policy and following it economic downturn) can lead to a violation of the referential value of the public finances deficit by 3% of the GNP. The combination of a loose fiscal policy and a restrictive monetary policy is also unfavourable from the point of view of a long- term economic growth. Moreover, not sufficient fiscal tightening could lead to a significant tension on the currency markets, making it impossible to meet the currency criterion. The system of macroeconomical policy in the period of participation in the ERM II should favour the stabilisation of the exchange rate, however. There is no doubt that the combination of a restrictive fiscal policy and a moderately restrictive monetary policy would form an efficient macroeconomic policy in respect to Poland’s membership in the monetary union.
Secondly, the probability of a safe participation in the ERM II increases, if appropriate conditions of participation in such a mechanism are negotiated. Such decisions concern both, the choice of central parity that is close to a long-term balance, and a wide range of permissible fluctuations.
Thirdly, taking into account the traditionally occurring risks related to the execution of the exchange rate policy in the quasi-fixed system conditions, the period of zloty participation in the ERM II should be as short as possible. Such a conclusion can also be made based on the so far interpretation of the exchange rate criterion which emphasises greater tolerance for the appreciation of the execution of the exchange rate in respect to the central parity. This means that in case of delay of entering into the eurozone monetary policy should, as so far, be conducted in conditions of a floating exchange rate policy regime.

Polish is my native language and I have recently completed my studies at the University of Westminster, London, and obtained Master's degree in Bilingual Translation (English-Polish) with Merit.
In January 2008 I took three modules in Diploma of Translation exam provided by Institute of Linguists (IOL) in London and passed one of them (Letter of Credit). In 2007/2008, I have studied English Language at Open University with assignment scores of 65% and higher with the final exam score of 74%.
I gained high level of proficiency in English through living here in the UK for the past 11 years. I also attended English courses at Alton College, Hampshire (ESOL and EFL).
I also have an outstanding knowledge of my native language, Polish; I scored an “A” in Writing and an “A” in Speaking in my Baccalaureate exam ("Matura", A-levels equivalent).
I am a confident user of the Microsoft Office package (I have completed the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) in 2008.
I also passed the Trados Level 1 Certification Exam (Translation Memory software)
