Arabic term
عربيكار
Arabic to English
Other

عربيكار
From a Syrian ID card. It's supposed to be a city or a village in Syria, but I can´t find it anywhere, so I don't know what the tashkil is like. Arbikar? Urbikar? Does anybody know what's the "Latinized" name for this town or how to pronounce it in Arabic?
The holder's address is:
عين العرب الشرقي
Ain al-arab - al-sharqi
but he lives in
عربيكار
ain-ra-ba-ya-kaf-alif-ra
(sorry about the spelling, I can't see Arabic characters in Proz... so just in case)
Thank you very much!

Arabyakar
The search on the net reveals that it is likely to be a small town in the kurdish region in Syria. This result is built upon the fact that "عين العرب" (Aïn Al-Arab) called (Aïn Thinar) or (Kubani) in Kurdish is one of six kurdish cities in Syria.

Note from asker:
Shukran, a Nabil al-fasi! But I still don't see why it would be called Arabyakar, and not Arabikar, for instance. |
