The spring clips are made from 1/4" square aluminum tubing which is first cut into 1/8" wide pieces. You then drill the 2 holes opposite each other for the bolt. Once drilled, go ahead and open that side by snipping the end off with your cutters. Clean uo the edges and you now have a functional spring clip. I added a small piece of aluminum tubing as a bushing to fit over the bolt and hide the threads. When tightened, these clips actually hold the whole thing together.
