French term

plage

French to English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) WiFi
I'm stuck on the translation of 'plage' in the following sentences as I can't find any convincing Google hits for any of my ideas:

Utiliser une plage dédiée pour le réseau WiFi, non routable.

and...

Utiliser une plage locale non routable sur le réseau interne.

The sub-heading of this section is 'Configuration IP et application'

many thanks

Yes, I got quite a few Ghits for "non routable range" associated with "IP address"

Dusty - unfortunately not. It's one of those Powerpoint presentations where you just have lists of recommendations. The funny thing is that when I tried "non-routable range" in Google yesterday evening, it came up with 0 hits. This morning it's giving me over 400... perhaps it was as tired as I was! Anyway, looking at it with a fresh mind this morning, I also think that it's probably referring to an IP address range.
Incidentally, I also asked the client (who is NOT the author...) for clarification. He said that that 'segments d'informations' could replace 'plage' here. I personally don't agree, but I'll pass on this message to everyone who has been kind enough to reply to see if it sparks off any brainwaves. Are we ALL barking up the wrong tree? I don't think so!
Tony M Mar 23, 2006:
Is there anything, anywhere, that might give a clue as to WHAT this is a 'plage' OF?

agree Tony M : Ah yes, it looks as if this might be a 'range' of IP addresses --- now THAT would make sense here...

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Jeff, although I think it was referring to the IP address range, rather than the range of the wireless"
