10 par 40 lamps rated 1000 W Explanation: could be a new development, since "par 36" and "par 38" halogen lamps are find easily using Google search: Par 36: http://www.google.co.ve/search?num=100&hl=es&safe=off&q=par ... Par 38: http://www.google.co.ve/search?num=100&hl=es&safe=off&q=par ... good luck! |

10 Par 40 cans / luminaires, 1000 W each. Explanation: This is about theatrical lighting. "Par 40" refers to the size of the light fitting. The "40" is a measure of the diameter of the lens, and is the number of eighths of an inch (so a "Par 40" is 5 inches in diameter, a "Par 56" is 7 inches, etc.) Depending on the country, the unit itself could be called a "can" or a "lantern" or a "lamp" or a "luminaire", or maybe just a "spot" or "flood", depending on its function. Hope that helps! The "1000 W" of course refers to the rating of the lamp, in terms of the power consumed by the bulb. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2006-05-31 15:54:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You could even leave it as "10 Par 40's, of 1000 W each". It's not good grammar, but that's the way gaffers usually refer to them. |
