Italian term or phrase: oltrepassano la lunga linea anonima dei grigiori del tempo
What is this supposed to mean?!?

We're still talking about hats here (the fall/winter product line). Here's the whole sentence:

Dall'autunno in inverno, i colori caldi e le forme avvolgenti ci rassicurano e riscaldano ai primi brividi, ed oltrepassano la lunga linea anonima dei grigiori del tempo.

my try...
The Italian text is more or less a bunch of random expressions :P

I think it's great. I also like the imagery of "ai primi brividi" but I am not sure "early shivers" sounds equally good :)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks Giorgio--with your help this is what I've come up with so for this sentece. What do you think? From autumn to winter, the warm colors and cozy shapes keep us secure and warm on the first chilly days of fall and stand out against the gloomy, gray days of winter. Any suggestions?
