cotter shear pin Explanation: Weir has to do with water...the original is talking about a power take-off assembly on a tractor. Pino fusível = Shear safety pin, which limits the amount of torque on the shaft. One illustration at: http://members.aol.com/ricnakk/engine2.html#Shear Pins see also: http://www.daltongear.com/over4.htm Couldn't find a reference to duckbill in relation to a shear pin, but I believe that "bico de pato" would be a Portuguese way of translating a cotter pin, which is split and looks like a duckbill. Cotter shear pin: There were three maybe 5/8" pins on the cart that inserted into the fuselage of the 'CAT: one on the bottom and one on each side.
