Fortification
A sort of a through gallery or corridor (linear or curved) built to protect the exit door(s) in the rear of a fortress or other fortification from direct hit, debris of enemy projectile and from shock wave of outside explosion.
The translation attempts I know: through passage (?),
protective throughout passage (??), through duct,
protective housing/tunnel - neither seems good.

gateway
