Polish term

o konstrukcji przysłupowej i szachulcowej

Polish to English Other Architecture Type of house construction
A list of sight-seeing attractions in part of the Dolny Śląsk region. The full 'sentence' is:

100 zabytkowych domów o konstrukcji przysłupowej i szachulcowej

I wondered if it might be 'black-and-white timber framed' - but that's the sheerest guess.

All help most gratefully received :-)

Apologies accepted ;-)
Caryl Swift (asker) Jul 1, 2007:
@ leff I do apologise. In thirty something pages this is one of only a very few terms with which I'm completely unfamiliar. I genuinely thought it was a term which functioned as a fixed expression (as you can see from my attempt at its meaning) and therfore could not be broken up and still its sense. My apologies again to everyone.

You know, I did search the glossary. Why couldn't I find this? :-(
