I saw this as "Nagsasalita kami ng Tagalog" or as "nagtatagalog kami".
But how do I write it? Doesn't Tagalog have characters?

nagsasalita kami ng tagalog
Hi, there.
Beyond re-entering the target term again and to answer your question, we have to delve into some history.
Before the Spanish arrived in the Philippines, a prevalent script called "baybayin" (This was over 400 years ago.) was used, but over time the friars and missionaries imposed the romanized alaphabet. It's interesting to speculate what writing would look like today if colonization had not occured - same is true in Indonesia, Vietnam, ... . Sorry, I'm rambling.
In short, Tagalog and the other Philippine languages use the roman alphabet.

: I can't help but to agree. Eric, really, you're deep. Probably, our writing would have looked like that of the Chinese since they had already made trade with the natives before the colonization of the Spaniards.

nagsasalita kami ng tagalog
i agree with the earlier translation but if u were trying to say that u know how to speak the Philippine Language in general, it would be more correct if u will say "Nagsasalita kami ng Filipino." Tagalog is only one of the many dialects in the Philippines which were spoken by those who lives in the National Capital Region (NCR) and some provinces in the periphery of NCR.
