unethical investigator, contrary to fundamental ethics of clinical trial/investigation Explanation: o investigador näo apresentou argumentos do indole ética que justifiquem a bondade de alguns dos exames propostos e a justificacão para a suspensão da terapêutica habitual durante 2 a 4 semanas, face aos valores que a investigacão clinica deve preservar a autonomia, a beneficéncia e a justiça. to me, it get a little confusing at the very end, however, this is how I read it: they are trying to remind everyone involved that the investigator did not do an ethical job, they say why, then they stated that clinical investigation must exactly be inscribed in ethics (autonomy, justice, ) - the exact opposite of what the investigator apparently did. |

sentença difícil Explanation: Scientific and clinic valuation are interesting, as we refered to in the report body. We highlight, though, that the coordinator investigator did not show ethic reasons to justify and consider the suitability of some of the proposed examinations and the reason for the suspension of the habitual therapy for 2 to 4 weeks due to the fact that clnic investigation must preserve authonomy, well-doing and justice. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2007-07-15 19:04:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I was about to translate the text when I saw Vera's. She did a perfect job. I would only use 'que justifiquem a adequação' instead of 'que justifiquem a bondade', and 'bem-estar', instead of 'beneficência'. explanation Explanation: I'm neither a Portuguese or English native speaker but think this is what is meant here: As we said in the main section of the report, the clinical and scientific evaluation is interesting. However, we would like to point out that in view of the fact that clinical studies should show autonomy and benefits of as well as grounds for the study, the study coordinator failed to present ethical arguments to justify some of the proposed tests, to document the benefit of these tests and to justify the 2 to 4 week suspension of the routine treatment. |

The text is a little messed up starting with "valores." I suspect that the author was dictating and made a "false start." We would show this in writing with a dash. And then the transcriptionist got confused. This is what I understand: "...face aos valors -- ... face ao fato que a investigacão clinica deve preservar a autonomia, a beneficéncia e a justiça." |
