Pomme de Reinette et pomme d'api

French to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
Pomme de Reinette et pomme d'api
Tapis tapis rouge
Pomme de Reinette et pomme d'api
Tapis tapis gris
Cache ton poing derrière ton dos
Sinon t’auras un coup de marteau

I'm not looking for a literal translation of this.
What I need is something similar in English, not necessarily in subject matter, but in relation to the gestures made.

Basically, I need a children's (nursery) rhyme that would have been used on the playground. The children use their fists in this game. First one child presents a fist, and the other places his fist above it. Then they do it the other way around. Then, in the picture I have the first child removes his fist quickly.
It's difficult to describe.

I've thought of "One potato, two potato", but I'm not sure of the gestures.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them.

The usual (US) kids' version is almost like Pomme de reinette: rhythm follows punctuation, fists are placed on saying the number, and the person saying "more" places his/her hand flat on top of the other fist(s) (or slaps, depending), all pull hands out.

A fun way to do this is to have two or three groups of students sit in a circle with their hands in fists. Touch students' fists one at a time while chanting "One potato, two potato" After you have touched a students fist, he/she should put that hand behind his/her back...

one potato, two potato...

From playing with my little neighbour, I can confirm that the game is materially the same — and I have the bruises to prove it!
