German term

geschiebeartige Fräsungen

German to English Tech/Engineering Medical: Dentistry Dental Catalogue - Structural Elements
"Schrauben allein genügen für die Verbindung von Brückenkörpern nicht, sie müssen durch geschiebeartige Fräsungen unterstützt werden."

From a catalogue about dental attachments and structural elements. (I've nearly reached the end of it, thank goodness!)

At the moment they're talking about screws in the attachments.

Quick vocab guide: Brückenkörper is bridge beam. My dental dictionary at least saved me from asking about that one!

But "geschiebeartige Fräsungen" is troubling me somewhat. As has occurred earlier in the text, Fräsung is being used to denote a concrete object rather than being used in its more usual way as a verbal noun denoting the act of milling.

I'm thinking something like "milled attachment-like surfaces", but am not totally sure about it. TIA for any assistance you can provide.

sliding milled bars

Specially, individually milled and distally extended one-piece bar, onto which a one-piece, easily removable - for hygienic considerations - bridge construction is attached.
Hope this helps.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "None of the answers have convinced me beyond all doubt. Johanna's reference was pretty good, although it didn't contain the exact phrase she used in her answer. So because I'm still a little bit uncertain, I'm awarding the winning 3 points rather than 4 and won't be entering the term into the glossary. But I do appreciate your help. Some peer grades could have made a big difference here! Never mind - thanks to those who did offer some idea."

milled (connection) guides

I think what they're referring to are milled channels (etc.) in corresponding parts that fit into each other and lock the parts more securely and over a larger surface (screws/bolts might break out of their threads)

pushing type milling

sort of tapered milling. Once it is pushed in, it is locked in place. Please see whether this can fit into your context.
