Italian term

R.O.

Italian to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Clinical Drug Trials
I am wondering if anyone knows what this abbreviation may mean.

There is a one page fact sheet where this appears as a heading.
Here are the headings:

Studio N.:
Titolo:
Prot.
Farmaco:
Ditta: (followed by the name of the company who has produced the study drug)
R.O.: (followed by the name of the clinical research company)
Centro Ricerca:
Reparto:
Sperimentatore:

Etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note from asker:
Thanks all - I agree with Joseph Tein's approach on this one. Throughout the document one sees a lack of absolutely consistency in re abbreviations reflecting Italian words and some reflecting English. (the clinical trial should perhaps be about a drug linguistic schizophrenia!) I am going to go with "research organization"! Thanks so much!

agree achisholm : definitely

Thank you, Alexander.
agree Joseph Tein : In the context, and in this place in the sequence, this looks like the right choice. The Italians love to borrow English terms and abbreviationsm, although I would have expected "CRO" here (Contract Research Organization). Happy Holidays, Zareh.

Thank you, Joseph, and Happy Holidays to you as well.
agree tradu-grace : It is likely you're right. I also expected "CRO". Let's see the asker's opinion though. Have a Happy New Year.

agree Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. : What a wonderful reference!

Thank you indeed Zareh
neutral Joseph Tein : I don't think this fits in this context and in this position in the document ... I feel even more strongly about this after I read the reference you provided; this just doesn't fit in the clinical research context and in the list given by the asker.
