Italian term (edited):
Auxo-endocrinologia
Selected
endocrinology of growth
'auxo-' (or also 'ausso-') is a greek term used to form compound words and its meaning is 'growth'. I don't know the exact translation in english but it should simply be 'endocrinology of growth'. Try to type it on the google toolbar and see the results that come out.

Auxoendocrinology/Auxo-endocrinology
Endocrinology refers to the study of hormones and there is usually a department/centre/division of endocrinology present in each hospital. My guess is auxoendocrinology is the study of growth hormones. There are many Google references to a department/centre/division of auxoendocrinology in Italian hospitals.

Agree. I've worked in many English language hospitals and never came across it. I think the closest English language equivalent is 'paediatric/pediatric (UK /US English) endocrinology'.

Yes, I saw this term used on the websites of lots of Italian hospitals, but not on any websites for English-language country hospitals, which led me to think it was a literal translation used rather than the actual English term used in this field. |

: I wouldn't trust this term (Auxo- ) unless I saw it in a document written by a native English-speaking author(s)

Yes. Sounds like a word made by combining auxology (study of human growth) and endocrinology-but only in Italy.

What they do
I've never seen this term before ... here's an explanation in Italian of what they do, although this still doesn't help me find the term in English:
"- Auxoendocrinologia: cura i bambini che presentano problemi relativi all’accrescimento, alla pubertà, all’obesità e di bambini con patologie che sono legate a disfunzione delle ghiandole come la tiroide, le paratiroidi, l’ipofisi, il surrene, il pancreas ecc. Vengono eseguiti in regime di DH prove di stimolazione per valutare la funzionalità delle varie ghiandole. E' attivo anche ll'ambulatorio per adolescenti."

Thanks for the reference. Perhaps something general like Paediatric Endocrinology could work in this instance. |
Discussion
Division of Endocrinology of growth and growth disorders
Division could be replaced by 'unit' as well ( placed at the end of the phrase)
