Italian term

Senza cessori di formaldeide

Italian to English Other Cosmetics, Beauty Makeup
Hi everyone, I have a list of items that I need to translate for a makeup company. Along with the usual Silicone-free and GMO-free, on the packaging they also state "Senza cessori di formaldeide". Thanks for your help.

Formaldehyde-Free

Ciao Enrica,

pensi che semplicemente "Formaldehyde-Free" non possa fare al caso tuo?

Io tradurrei così.

Buon lavoro e buon pomeriggio =)
Note from asker:
Grazie mille, Iride. Ma sembra che i cessori hanno una composizione chimica diversa dalla formaldeide
Peer comment(s):

disagree philgoddard : You can't just ignore"cessori".

disagree Eileen Cartoon : Actualy I like the sound of this but it's a little too absolute. You don't know if the product contains formaldehyde

without formaldehyde-leaching preservatives

putting it more explicitly

Note from asker:
Thanks JudyC, looks like that is another way to put it. Donors is correct too: http://nomoredirtylooks.com/2011/06/how-to-avoid-formaldehyde-in-your-products-expecially-now-that-the-government-has-admitted-its-a-carcinogen/
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : "Without" is too literal, though - "contains no" would be better. And I think this would be more appropriate than the technical term in this context.

does not release formaldehyde

or maybe non formaldehyde emissions

I think the cessori stems from cessione and thus indicates the release of a substance.

Actually I like Iride's formaldehyde free but that may not be the case. From the text you know it does not release formaldehyde but you don't know if there is any in the product.
