Amigos, estou traduzindo um texto que, nesse trecho, saiu um pouco da minha "zona de conforto". Peço a ajuda dos colegas para confirmar uma tradução que fiz (não vou citá-la apenas para não influenciar as respostas).

Uma empresa fez uma aquisição por um valor elevado (centenas de milhares de dólares), mas foi um mau negócio. Ela não deveria ter feito essa aquisição - o autor a cita como um exemplo de falta de planejamento.
