The deployment of connector based technology enables Java Database Control (JDBC) access to important databases, such as DB2, Oracle, IMS DB and VSAM gives applications direct access to data and avoids additional data movement.
I found only a few examples of it in Internet, what kind of technology is this?

Java is a platform-independent programming language. Therefore, in order to interact with databases - any database - it has a method by which the drivers to the database is referenced and called. This method goes by the rather fancy name of "connector-based technology". :-)

Elena, this is far from being my specialist field, but in general terms, I would normally interpret 'connector-based' technology as meaning 'arranged so that things can be plugged in easily'.
In the given context, I presume this means that all these different systems can simply be 'plugged in', so that each can access the same database, instead of having to shuffle data around from one to another.
However, my low confidence rating should indicate to you that this is mere supposition on my part, based on extrapolation of my general technical knowledge. Hope it's some help all the same!

This is Java technology of remote online access to different kinds of software resources (controls, databases, etc.) instead of using them offline installed on your computer.
From the customer point of view, customers can use Java today to expand user interfaces. Customers can also integrate existing Java applications with SAP components using Java connector technology. Connector technology is available today. It can be downloaded from the Web. Customers can use it right now and do integration between applications from other vendors and homegrown applications with SAP.
