With-profit endowment policies are designed to pay out an agreed lump sum at the end of the policy plus an extra amount if the investments made a profit.
With-Profits is an insurance concept that allows for the pooling of risk and reward between participating policyholders. A with-profits investment is a medium to long-term investment. It may form all or part of certain pension, or life insurance contracts

Tut mir zwar leid, aber ich als alter Tattergreis habe nicht so genau auf Ihre Referenzen geschaut. PS I've done some UK (re-)insurance law - and plenty of endowment mortgage - work, but have never come across the term of 'Investment Line'.
