Spanish term

bonchi

Spanish to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
This is from a transcript of a police interview where they are talking to a homeowner who witnessed a suspect fleeing through his yard...I don't have a lot of context, but it's East Coast/New York area so more likely a Caribbean dialect, possibly Spanglish, possibly also misheard by the transcriber.

Lo venía siguiendo, y, eh, tenía esto aquí. Pues lo quitó y botó el **bonchi** y se salió corriendo para allá en medio de esas dos casas.

Discussion

Could be "bungee," maybe? I have no idea, but maybe a bungee cord used for committing the crime? (Grasping at straws here...)

Yes That's a strong possibility. 'Esto aquí' could be the evidence, or a photo of it.

Maybe "bonche" (from English "bunch"), stack, lot of.

So maybe a weapon, or some drugs, or something he'd stolen. What is he suspected of?
