I have a mental block - help!
The context is a news article on a takeover bid for a company. The CEO of the company to be acquired has urged his shareholders to refuse the offer. He has stated that the offered per share price is too low.
"Ich kann unseren Aktionären nur raten, die Anteile an unserem Unternehmen nicht zu verschleudern."
He is basically telling them not to throw their shares out the window, or "give them away", but I don't want to use those slang terms and just can't think of a better way to put it.
