Discussion

Non-ProZ.com (asker) Jan 18, 2008:
I am describing a flour mixture and need to say that it is white with brown specks. "tache" seems too big and to me describes a 2 dimensional blotch and I think that "grain" in the context of a flour mixture becomes confused with wheat grain. How do you use "point noirs" if they are brown?
mistahara (X) Jan 18, 2008:
"speck" means "tache" ou "grain". What exactly is your question? more context please

Merci :) à mon avis, "tache" ne va pas très bien avec "farine"

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Merci, je crois que "particule" convient le mieux ici même si c'est un peu technique. "Taches" et "points noirs" me semblent un peu négatifs."

ou plutôt taches brunes
Peer comment(s):

neutral Anna Quail : not very appetising... (points noirs = blackheads and taches brunes = liver spots) // No offence meant. 'Points' is actually quite good in this context.
