Am Anfang jeden Jahres schickt der amerikanische Arbeitgeber eine Bescheinigung aus, die Form W-2 genannt wird, auf der der Lohn {'W' für Wages}bzw. Gehalt und die Abzüge für das Vorjahr aufgeführt sind. Form W-2 wird dann als als Beleg mit der Steuererklärung eingereicht.
