Context: "If you previously made an ELECTION on the property, include a copy of the election form..."

"ELECTION on disposition of property by a taxpayer to a taxable Canadian Corporation"

this word appears in a documet of the Canada Revenue Agency In another part of the document the word "elections" is followed by another word between parenthesis: "rollovers", I don't know the meaning of this word either. It might help you to have an idea about the translation of "elections".

Gabriela... por lo que investigué, 'elections', en este contexto, se refiere a las 'decisiones' tomadas por un contribuyente al cierre de un periodo fiscal sobre, por ejemplo, como 'computar' algún item de su declaración. El tipo de 'elecciones|opciones|decisiones' realizadas o tomadas está bien ilustrado en la referencia de donde extraje el parrafo de más abajo, ya que enumera una gran cantidad de ejemplos:

Creo que el uso de 'election' en este sentido está bastante localizado en Canada (por lo menos, más del 50% de las referencias en inglés son de sitios canadienses) y no creo que exista un término en español específico que se haya impuesto como traducción. Pero es tan solo mi opinión personal... esperemos a ver si alguien aporta algo diferente! :)
