This type of insulation can be applied to new or existing construction using special spray equipment. It can be injected between brick veneer and masonry walls; between open studs or joists; and inside concrete blocks, exterior wall cavities, party walls, and piping cavities. The material must be applied by trained and certified contractors.
Puede ser aislamiento expandido en el lugar? Encontré esto pero no tengo muchas referencias.

Explanation:
Habría que ver si se indica en alguna parte sobre el material. No tengo seguridad si otros materiales tb se aplican pero con el poliuretano ciertamente se hace. Viene en forma de aerosol. Pusieron hace 2 años en el tejado de casa.

El aspecto del aislamiento de poliuretano expandido parece una espuma que se va expandiendo donde lo colocas. Mira algunas de las referencias que encontrarás referencias al respecto. Lo q no sé decir es la diferencia entre "foamed in place" y "sprayed in place". Espero haber ayudado.

agree  Hector Aires: Agregaría "...in situ" para diferenciarlo de las placas. La planta alta de mi casa tiene techo de chapa (no vivo en un asentamiento) y está revestida con espuma para evitar la condensación de agua y como aislamiento.

Es más, no se especifica ningún material sino una forma de aplicación.

De lo que habla el texto original es de la inyección a presión del material aislante en las juntas y espacios vacíos que se dejan ex-profeso al construir los muros. Dicho material es un líquido en el momento en que se lo inyecta, pero inmediatamente comienza una reacción química que genera gas, por lo que se convierte en espuma que queda "encapsulada" entre la mampostería.

El "sprayed-in-place insulation" es el rociado de espuma aislante sobre la superficie a aislar. Es usado donde no existen las mencionadas cavidades o espacios, como la superficie de muros o bajo techos
