al menos así es como lo aprendí yo en la escuela (estudié en Argentina y Venezuela). Ena búsqueda en Google me arroja 7.190 resultados, mientras que la opción con "múltiplo", sólo 1.570.

This is the way I learnt it in school. Note that I'm Spanish and, apparently, in Latin America they say "multiplicador" instead of "múltiplo", so I would take into account your target before choosin (even if "múltiplo" sounds much better to me than "multiplicador").
