wiring/cabling chute Explanation: Based on the German description below, I think cabling or wiring chute or duct would be appropriate here. 8.3.4 ERSCHLIEßUNG Die Erschließung eines Sekundärbereiches kann entsprechend den Anforderungen als ringförmige oder sternförmige Sekundärverkabelung ausgeführt werden. Bei der Planung der Etagenverteiler in Neubauten sollten sämtliche Verteiler und der dazugehörende Steigeschacht übereinander liegen. Idealerweise sollte der Steigeschacht innerhalb des Verteilerraumes geführt werden. Bei der Planung der Steigeschächte ist darauf zu achten, daß diese nach Fertigstellung ohne großen Aufwand für eventuell anstehenden Nachverkabelungen erreichbar sind. Im Steigebereich sind Kabelleitern mit einem Abstand von Sprosse zu Sprosse von ca. 30-40 cm einzuplanen. Bei der Befestigung der Kabel (Glasfaser und Kupfer) ist darauf zu achten, daß die Kabelschellen nur leicht angezogen werden um die Kabel nicht zu beschädigen. Es handelt sich um ein Installationssegment zur Verbindung des Gebäudeverteilers mit den Etagenverteilern. riser shaft Explanation: I frequently used this term in my arch/constr translations. This would provide accommodation of both electrical installations (wiring/cabling) and utilities such as water and gas. Actually, "risers" are "Steigleitungen". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-08-16 09:59:19 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- On second thought, I believe that the \"Steigeschächte\" mentioned in the source text primarily refer to pipework (risers) e.g. for water and gas supply, and have less to do with power lines/cables. Question of further context though... |
