OK, thank you. Will do.
Nicole Schnell Mar 13, 2007:
Hi Helen - I would stick to buttons. That would be a 1:1 translation and making badges might involve laminating and such, which might pose a risk of injury due high heat and I don't think that's appropriate for childrens' parties.
Helen Birkbeck (asker) Mar 13, 2007:
Sorry - was in a hurry and don't understand the points system fully. I am naturally very grateful.
BrigitteHilgner Mar 13, 2007:
Why no points for somebody generous enough to help you?

button maker

This is rather a Swiss typo. And a "Denglizism".

Due to the context (childrens' parties) I am very convinced that we are talking about a "Buttonmaschine":

"Create a perfect button every time with our high-quality button machines. Choose from 11 different size button makers!

Browse our website to find out how easy it is to make a button.

A button maker is a great addition to any business or organization. Use the button maker for promotional events and fundraising. Special discounts are available for schools, clubs, and other non-profit organizations.

Note from asker:
Thank you very much. Could it also be a 'badge maker', though?
