KR

German to English Medical Medical (general) radiology - apparently some kind of radiological examination?
Examination - KR: Thorax in 2 Ebenen von ** um ** Uhr

Again, just from a brief list of findings. Apparently some kind of radiological investigation?

Discussion

Ed Beese (asker) Mar 10, 2009:
Sorry, had to leave it up to the company who accepted the translation.
I see...and no additional information or feedback??
How did you finally 'translate' KR and SP, then??
Ed Beese (asker) Mar 8, 2009:
No, Harald, I did this for another translation agency, so that i don't know the client myself.
Hello Ed, was it possible to clarify KR and SP from the client's side??

Gudrun Maydorn (X) Feb 23, 2009:
Does the German text literally say "Examination - KR:" or is this your translation for what originally was"Untersuchung - KR:" ?
http://flexikon.doccheck.com/Röntgen-Thorax
Als Röntgen-Thorax wird die standardisierte Untersuchung des Thorax durch ...Röntgenaufnahmen in posterior-anteriorem und seitlichem Strahlengang bezeichnet. Ein Röntgen-Thorax gehört ...zur Basisdiagnostik
I see - nevertheless, KR would not be the doctor who wrote the list of findings but a person in the radiology dept.
Also, since both of the examinations refer to standard thoracic X-ray (see ref), contrast imaging and spirometry seem to be unlikely...
Ed Beese (asker) Feb 23, 2009:
KR No, this is not likely - none of the doctors in the pages fit as far as the initials are concerned. On one page there is also CT: Schädel nativ vom ** um ** Uhr so I think it must be some kind of radiological exam maybe KontrastRadiograph and SP might possibly be Spirometrie?
Is it possible from the context or layout that these are initials of the persons who conducted the examination??

neutral Harald Moelzer (medical-translator) : 'Thorax in 2 Ebenen' ist sicherlich eine konventionelle Röntgenuntersuchung, und gleichzeitig so banal, dass das Hinzufügen eines eigenen Kürzels doch sehr unwahrscheinlich ist...und was bedeutet dann "SP" beim Thorax im Liegen (siehe Ed's 2. Frage)????
