German term
Stigmatisierung
German to English
Science
Physics
electron oscillator
The term is used in a promotional paper relating to an "abgelenkter elektronen Strahloszillator". In the section on testing and callibrating the device, there is description of running the beam over a sensor repeatedly, whereby "die Energieverteilung im gesamten Strahlprofil genau vermessen und die Qualität der Justierung und Fokussierung auf dem Bildschirm in Form eines Intensitätsprofils dargestellt wird, das die Beurteilung der Strahlqualität und die Qualität der Justierung und Stigmatisierung erlaubt". STIGMATISIERUNG is the term I can't find.

astigmatism correction
The German usage is rather loose (i.e. incorrect) IMHO.
This must sure refer to astigmatism adjustment of the beam (to maintain a circular spot over the entire raster).
