I am essentially agreeing with David Russi, and I guess he should get the points if you agree with the answer. Chickens have a comb, which is different shaped in various breeds: Leghorns and Rhode Island reds have a large single comb, wyandottes have a very small, flat comb known as a rose comb, which makes them a good breed for cold climates, as the small comb doesn't lose as much heat or get frost bitten. There are, however, so-called v-shaped comb breeds, the Polish, crevecoeurs, and houdans, and they DO have crests of feathers forming a top knot, and the correct term here is CREST. Type in a google search and I'm sure you'll get plenty of hits showing pictures of these beautiful birds, or type in a search for Murray McMurray Hatchery, look at their illustrated online catalog of all the commercial and fancy poultry breeds with the different comb type. It's where I got my chickens from!
