On the European Commission Open Day, Saturday, May 7, 2011 there will be a room dedicated to DG Interpretation — the Schuman Room. In this room there will be ten interpreting booths open for you to try simultaneous interpretation. Staff and freelance interpreters working for the European Commission will be on hand to answer all your questions about training and working as an interpreter, and will be giving you an insight into their work throughout the day. In the room itself, there will also be speeches, interviews, events, mini-conferences and explanations of how things work behind the scenes.
You can be the interpreter – or just lean back and listen in!
Date: Saturday, May 7, 2011
