dimple connector connecteur à vis / à vis radiales Explanation: Total guesswork based on the following definitions! Historically, the external setscrew, or dimple connector, has been the preferred style of connector. While applications, features, and benefits are principally the same as for the slip-type connector design, makeup of a setscrew-type connector is more complex and takes slightly more time. The set connector contains no slips and is held in place by setscrews tight- ened against the CT material. It is attached to the CT end by setscrews that engage in preformed dimples, which are formed using a dimpling tool. After the dimpling, the CT end is prepared for the O-ring seal by beveling off the end and smoothing the O-ring seal area. The connector is then slipped up the CT; the set- screws are installed and torqued up. Verification of proper installation is required with a pull test [www.oilfield.slb.com/media/services/ coiled/tools/setconnector.pdf] Grub Screw/Dimple Connector [www.ctes.com/ Documentation/literature/Generic%20Detailed%20CT%20Manual%20TOC.pdf] Dimple Connector: A tubing connector using grub screws to secure BHA's to the coiled tubing [http://www.icota.com/Glossary/d.html] |
