På produktionssträckorna gäller olika kriterier för processen. Signalerna som sänds till mutterdragaren kommer från styrningen. I regel kommer först vägen till arbetspositionen, sedan ankomsten på arbetsstationen där dragningem genomförs och till sist lämnas arbetspositionen. Användaren är skyldig att ställa säkerhetsanvisningar för dessa drifts faser till förfogande.
