German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Food & Drink / Alloys for vehicle engine components
German term or phrase: Eisrippel
This term is included in a list of products that the manufacturer produces with alginates. The other products in the list are

Instant Kindergele

By the way if you have any ideas on "Wirkstoffkügelchen" I would be grateful for help in this regard as well.

Explanation:
I'm just guessing - but the food manufacturer whose url I paste below does say "From biscuit fillings to ice cream ripple sauces, ..."

No idea about the other one, sorry.

I used this one. Thanks - From the context it seems that alginates are used particularly for sauces like whatever is used to produce the ripple in some kinds of ice-cream.

Explanation:
1. Wenn, dann "ripple ice cream", nicht "ice cream ripple" ... but I'm not convinced that this is what is meant, since it is not the ripples that require alginates, but the ice cream itself. Given that "Eisrippel" gets ZERO Googles, I think you have little choice but to ask the client for an explanation.

2. This really should be posted as a separate question for the benefit of the glossary, but there is significant evidence for "biocatalyst beads" for Wirkstoffkügelchen, see e.g. http://www.bioline.org.br/request?jb03012

In this study, the author have chosen to vary the concentrations of alginate solutions to prepare the biocatalyst beads in the aim to determine the impact of different kind of constraints on the physiology of T. turnirae cells. Actually, the gel network is very different depending on the conditions in which gel beads are
obtained (Nava et al., 1996).

There is rather less evidence, but evidence nonetheless, for "active agent pellets", e.g. http://www.freshpatents.com/Capsule-containing-active-substa...

and "active substance pellets"
