갓길
It is a proper noun, a sort of compound noun.
"갓 [gʌt]" means margin, border, edge or side. (The pronunciation is very similar to "got".)
"길 [gil]" means road, street, or lane.
But the Road Traffic Authority of Korea uses "shoulder of the highway" rather than "pullover lane".
e.g. Driving on the shoulder of the highway- 30 penalty points and fine
(Example from penalty points and fine in driver's manual section in their website, http://www.rtsa.or.kr/eng/sub04_11.html)

Yes, it is. But, in Korea, there is no difference between them as far as I know. It is long or short shoulder.

Note from asker:
Thank you very much, however the difference between the shoulder and pullover lane is that the pullover lane is a short stretch of shoulder paved the same way as the highway and it is as wide as the width of an average truck. |
