Dutch term
(long) aanliggen
Dutch to English
Medical
Medical (general)
In a report about a Chest X-ray:
"Geringe toename van pleuravocht met name basaal. De long lijkt aan te liggen. Normaal thoraxbeeld links."
The X-ray has been taken in "zittende voorachterwaartse bedopname" (sitting anterior posterior in bed, I think).
I am not sure what "aanliggen" could mean here.
Any help much appreciated.

adjoining / touching
It seems to say that the lung appears to be adjoining / touching - but it doesn't say what - presumably the pleural effusion, which seems a bit back to front! (i.e. the pleural fluid would normally "adjoin" the lungs, rather than vice versa).
But I'm not convinced there isn't a typo here.

lung is inflated
A lung "ligt goed aan" when it is well inflated as opposed to when there is a pneumothorax which is the medical term for a collapsed lung
