Republic of Lithuania assigned to the Managing Authority a number of general functions of the supervision of the creation and functioning of the management and control system, as well as the functions of planning the EU structural assistance and *common financing funds* (both the expenses that are eligible or ineligible for the funding) and other additional functions related to the better planning and more effective use of the EU structural assistance funds.
