4. ***Indexer Cylinders*** In/Out (8): There are four sets of 2 kicker cylinders (Hinweis von mir: das sollte ***"indexer cylinders"*** heissen. Qualität lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig.) (eight total) on this catwalk – DS and ODS “in” and DS and ODS “out”. Both cylinders per set operate together by using one valve. The “in” ***indexer cylinders*** are used to allow pipes to leave the pipe rack arms and enter the catwalk and skate trough area, by pushing the pipe over the pipe indexing pin. This ensures that only 1 pipe may enter the catwalk skate trough. Please see cautionary note, Section 5.3.1 Note 6. The “out” cylinders are used to return pipes to the pipe rack arms for removal (note – the indexing pins must be removed for pipe removal). Note: Do not operate the “in” and “out” cylinders at the same time as this would elevate the entire catwalk deck. This would create an unsafe working condition and the potential for a pipe to become trapped below the deck, potentially damaging the catwalk.
