Si no me equivoco, esto significa que sus dos piezas se unen firmemente con un tornillo, por lo cual se deben utilizar las manos para abrirlo o cerrarlo en mayor o menor grado, a diferencia de compases que utilizan resortes o muelles o tienen un segundo tornillo para mayor precisión y facilidad de manejo.
