L`organització del Regne impulsada pels reis de Mallorca implicà la construcció d`importants obres civils. D`una banda, les obres de defensa com els castells d`Alaró, Santueri i Pollença a Mallorca i les ***murades ballesteres*** de Ciutadella a Menorca.

Do they simply mean 'crenelated ramparts' here?
According to my dictionary (Enc. Catalana), 'ballestera' is a loophole through which crossbows were fired.
