: Normally master/slave is associated with hard-disk or disk drives or master/slave computers. I have not come across mathematics that use the wording master/slave.

For those who can't read the characters, it is reproduced here: '主从运算架精'. The original is actually traditional Chinese characters (still used in Taiwan and Hong Kong but not mainland China) and encoded in Japanese ShiftJIS encoding. Probably the user used a Japanese OS/browser.
