Notes on pronunciation:
1. In both expressions, the letter "A" in the syllable "LAM" is long, like the "A" in the English word "LAMB". The other A's in both expressions are all short, like the "A" in "PENDANT".
2. The standard pronunciation of the diphthong "AY" in both expressions is similar to the Scottish pronunciation of the letter "I" in "FINE."

in this sentence we usually add the Arabic letter (wa:و )= and
wa a'aliakum Assalam: وعليكم السلام
when someone greets you with the first sentence, you answer back with the second sentence.
