Question
NI (national insurance), NIC (national insurance contributions) would rouhgly correspond to Sécurité Sociale contributions. This is possible in context. However, it might also be net income, why not, in fact?
What make this one tricky is that your original is in English but is describing a French payslip. The term SMIC is left in French for example. This would make me wary of assuming the term NI is an English one, however appropriate the first two suggestions you have here are.
Look at this another way round and assume that NI is in fact French. What might it stand for now?
I think you need to straighten this point out with your client before knowing quite how to handle it.
